Science in EDC
Two places in El Dorado County have been the setting or focus for much scientific research—the Pine Hill gabbro soil formation centered on Pine Hill near the town of Rescue (Fig. 1), and the Blodgett Forest Research Station west of Georgetown (Fig. 2). In addition to rare natives, El Dorado County has seen the spread of invasive plant species, becoming the subject of research in several areas of the county.
